pOLICIES & Procedures

As First Baptist Church El Paso continues the step-by-step process of reopening and welcoming everyone back to Church, we have made some changes to our procedures. The FBC Children’s Ministry continues to take every precaution to maintain a safe environment for your families and for our teachers and helpers.

We are accepting babies through Kindergarten during both worship services. We are also having Children’s Sunday School classes immediately following the first service.

Sunday School time is 10:15 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. Worship Service times are 9:00 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. Children first grade and older attend worship with their parents.

registration

Children must be pre-registered to be admitted into the program. Registration can be done online Monday through Thursday prior to the Sunday your family plans to attend. Reservations are made on a weekly basis. Any reservations made after the capacity has been met, will be placed on a waiting list. If we have any cancelations, families will be notified. (We ask that if your need for childcare changes after you have registered your children, please notify Martha Jackson at mjackson@fbcep.com at your earliest convenience, so we may invite the next family on the list.

Starting on June 6th, advance registration will no longer be required.

baby care

We are happy to take care of your baby four months and older during our worship services. Please ask an usher at the entrants to direct you to the Children’s Welcome Center or call or text Martha Jackson at (915)345-4006 for a tour of our facilities or more information.

masks

We will follow FBC practices of masks optional for our Children’s area as announced by our Dr. Rotramel May 18, 2021. Sunday School teachers and Preschool workers will accept parent’s choice in the use of mask for their children when in our care. Our preschool teachers working with Kinder and younger will continue the use of masks when receiving children into their room, and will keep it on if any child in the room is using one.

Please help us in maintaining a safe environment for everyone by checking for any medical condition you, your child, or any member of your family may have before you come. A cough or runny nose could be allergies, but in this environment (and for the safety of all, regardless of the cause) any symptoms are not acceptable. If there has been any sickness or fever in your home during the prior week, you should not attend.

temperature checking

Our church is not taking temperatures at this point. Please help us in maintaining a safe environment for everyone by checking for any medical condition you, your child, or any member of your family may have before you come. A cough or runny nose could be allergies, but in this environment (and for the safety of all, regardless of the cause) any symptom are not acceptable. If there has been any sickness or fever in your home during the prior week, please do not attend.

check in

Stop by the Children’s Welcome center to pick up a two-part label (child name tag and pick up ticket) before dropping off your child. Please enter via Price Hall.

drop off & pick up

For Kinder and younger children, one parent will be permitted to drop off and pick up their child in their room assigned, to reduce traffic and congestion. We ask parents to please follow directions provided when walking in and out.

For children going to the second floor of the Children’s area (1st to 5th graders), a church staff member will take them from the Welcome Center and usher them to their classroom. Only Sunday School teachers and their students will be allowed on the second floor. Parents will pick their child up after Sunday School in Price Hall.

snack

A small bottle of water and an individual bag of Goldfish will be provided mid-morning for Kinder and younger, and at the beginning of Sunday School for 1st – 5th grade.

emergency contact

Parents who leave their children in our program are expected to be in an adult Sunday School class or worship service. A personal cell phone number is required and must be available at all times in case we need to contact a parent.

handouts

We are sending handouts home and continue our communication with parents via email, text, Facebook, Instagram and FBC website. Please check our website www.fbcep.com for any updates.

Thank you for working with us to maintain the highest quality of care, as has always been the priority at the FBC preschool and Children’s Ministry. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Martha Jackson at mjackson@fbcep.com.
