covid-19 guidelines

guidelines for reopening

The guidelines given below will be followed as FBCEP continues in our phases of reopening.
Effective Monday, May 17, 2021, masks will be optional in our building.

  1. Worship Service in the sanctuary will be held at 9:00 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. In the FBCEP building, as well as during our services, masks will be optional. The external rows on the first floor of the sanctuary will be reserved for those who prefer to wear a mask. We will continue to provide an online opportunity for you to worship with us. Our regular Sunday broadcast at 8:00 a.m. on Channel 38 will also continue to be available. We do not want to leave anyone behind in any stage of this reopening process. Your church staff and leadership are committed to meeting your need for worship, regardless of whether you are on campus or online. No Sunday evening or Wednesday evening Bible study groups for adults will meet at this time.

  2. Adult Sunday School will continue to meet on campus at 10:10 a.m., with several classes still offering a virtual component. Each Sunday School Department Director will decide the protocol for their classroom. Please go to the Sunday School page to get more detailed information.

  3. Youth Sunday School will meet at 10:15 a.m. for those students meeting in person. There will also be a virtual option at 10:15 a.m.

  4. FBC Children’s Ministry. As First Baptist Church El Paso continues the step-by-step process of reopening and welcoming everyone back to Church, we have made some changes to our procedures. The FBC Children’s Ministry continues to take every precaution to maintain a safe environment for your families and for our teachers and helpers. We are accepting babies through Kindergarten during both worship services. We are also having Children’s Sunday School classes immediately following the first service. Sunday School time is 10:15 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. We will continue to provide our Zoom Sunday School at 10:30 a.m. for 1st–3rd grade and 4th–5th grade. Worship Service times are 9:00 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. Children first grade and older attend worship with their parents. Click here for specific Policies & Procedures for our Preschool & Children's Ministry.

  5. Ministry Gatherings will continue to be considered by the full staff and handled on an individual basis.

Thank you for helping to take care of our church family by abiding by our procedures. As a staff, we continue to pray together and research best practices in our COVID-19 environment. Please continue to watch our website for any updates.
